Bluestone step treads

Solid Bluestone step treads were popular choice for Melbourne Churches and commercial buildings due to its plentiful supply and hard wearing characteristics. Today step treads are formed in concrete first and then Bluestone tiles are laid over the top.

Bluestone @ South Melbourne Commons

Enjoy a trip to South Melbourne Commons on the corner of Montague St. and Bank St. South Melbourne. This project was initiated by the Friends of the Earth Melbourne. The Commons Cafe serves great coffee and you can see our 600×300 sawn face Bluestone pavers laid at the entrance. This stone has been laid directly over crushed rock in a mortar base.
